Spring?

So, its already the middle of may.  Zoe has her last day of preschool this week! WOW.  I cannot believe that she will be in Kinder next year.  I do not know where the time goes.  Chaser is sleeping in a big boy bed as of Easter weekend - and doing great.  Thankfully he has not decided to get up in the middle of the night and wander into our room like Zoe did.  He uses his "ok to wake" clock and is great at waiting until its green in the morning to come out. For some odd reason, both kids have started waking up "early" (ie before 7:45) which, I do not prefer :)  But I guess thats good since Kinder starts at 7:50! We celebrated Chase's 3rd birthday in April.  He was so excited to have his own real birthday party this year and talked about it for WEEKS before his party.  We had it at the gymnastics gym he and Zoe take at and he totally LOVED it.  He is quite the little gymnast, not shockingly, as he has no fear at all of falling.  He asks me several times a week if its gymnastics day and was thrilled when we went twice a week in April because of some makeups we had.  He is 50% in height and 80% in weight.  His favorite birthday present was a recycling truck that has a moving trash can that would dump his other hot wheel cars into the truck.  He still loves his cars and vehicles! He sleeps with loveys, lightning mcqeen, and about 5 other cars.  Sometimes when I check on him at night I find them underneath him like he was just rolling them around his bed until he fell asleep.  He was sick for 4 days a few weeks ago with high fever and the only thing he wanted to do or watch was Cars - like 10 times... in a row... And, he is still a mommas boy.  3 years and counting! :)  I did spank him for the first time back in April (I wanted to cry!!) as he has very much decided to have an opinion on what he does, or doesn't want to do.  For the most part he is very good, as long as you give him his "3 minutes" which he always asks for when he is doing something fun.  Still loves his sister too and thinks she walks on water.  They like having "dance parties" and dressing up (with Chase either as Peter Pan, Jake, or in a dress) and jamming with the lights off.  Zoe girl has had lots of fun this spring on her Indian Princess campouts with her Daddy.  She gets so excited to go.  Im not sure who enjoys it more, her or J!  She has had some big milestones lately too.  She lost her first tooth about 3 weeks ago (bottom middle) followed by the second(other bottom middle) the next week.  This tooth fairy was NOT ready for that.  I mean, really loosing teeth!! She cannot be that big.  Her hair is finally long enough where I can put it in a pretty good ponytail- which she is thrilled about.  We rotate between headbands, ponytails, and braids.  She loves it when her hair is wet and its long enough to lay in front of her shoulder- which she always points out to me when she does it.  Poor girl wants long hair SO bad.  My girly girl.. her Loli took her to buy a pair of "high heels" and she came back with white "wedding shoes" which she wears around the house constantly.  we have loved having our Loli around more!! One of the cutest things that she does right now is that she writes "ZoeMommy" on almost all of her school work.  It started with this coloring book we would color in upstairs.  She would write her name and the name of whoever was coloring with her in the book.  Im not sure why she writes Mommy on her school stuff, since Im obviously not there doing it with her, but it does give my heart a little squeeze that she is thinking of me while she is at school.  Sweet girl.  She also loves bugs right now.  Rolly-pollys, butterflies,  beetles, firefliies, moths (lizards too).  She is always collecting them) and trying to hand them to me!  She even gets out her bug book to try to figure out what it is.  I loved doing that when I was a kid too, but looking at bugs over breakfast now kind of makes me want to gag ;)  Chase, on the other hand, hates all bugs - except Rolly-pollys.  Go figure!  Mr. Chase is .. finally.. potty-trained!  His teachers would laugh because they would ask him at school if he needed to go potty.  His answer "No, Im not potty-trained."  And that was that!  So we finally took the plunge 2 weeks ago, and he did totally awesome.  2 days - and he was done! He still has accidents from time time, but he caught on super quick- thank goodness!  And, most of the learning happened outside- bonus.  Since those were like the only 2 days that it HASN'T rained in the last 2 months.  I mean, the rain is crazy.. the lakes are even OVER full.  Who knew.. Not that it has stopped my two little fish from jumping straight in the pool at any opportunity.  We heated it 2 weeks ago and they spent pretty much the whole 3 days in the pool.  Zoe will still swim (daily) now that its back to 80 degrees, but Chase says "mommy, warm it up!!" Thankfully he does remember mostly how to swim from last year.  We are back in swim lessons but he is already back to swimming across the pool by himself (his favorite way to do things). Which means this momma gets to sit and watch outside the pool this year - fabulous. Summer - its here!  Zoe "graduated" from preschool today.  So bittersweet.  I so love her teachers and the safe, precious environment she is in.  Im so glad I still have one "baby' left.  Im sure Kinder will be a blast, but for now, Im going to try to soak every last minute of my little girl up before she takes a huge step into the world.
