Maui
J and I just got back from a fabulous 7 days in Maui - and OH was it amazing! We went to Maui for our honeymoon (almost 9 years ago!) and decided to go back for a fun vaca sans kids. Wow, I totally forgot what that kind of relaxation was like! It was A-MA-ZING! (Thanks huns!) It was SO wonderful to be on no ones schedule but our own. We napped on the beach, slept 10-12 hours a night, and just did what we wanted! And we got a little tan-bonus. We ate at my favorite breakfast buffet - Swan Court. Its right in front of a little pond with tons of swans. We ate there every morning on our honey moon and it was so fun to go back. Besides being lazy bums and relaxing on the beach, we actually did quite a bit of activity. We woke up at 4 am one morning to go scuba dive Molokini. It was the first time I had scuba-ed in 4 years and I still outlasted almost everyone and got to stay down with the dive master-yea! My parents did tell me I was a fish growing up! I also got to hold an octopus! It was so sticky! But its head was really smooth and it let out a bunch of ink on me. You could also hear the whales talking to each other the whole time. Pretty cool. We also woke early another morning to go do a horseback ride in Hana. It was so beautiful. We took the actual rode to Hana on the way back and stopped for a hike - which was supposed to be 3.6 miles. It was 6 miles! - after 3 hours on a horse! Then add a very windy 2.5 drive back on the road to Hana and we were exhausted! The hike was well worth it though as the waterfall was absolutely gorgeous. We did a sunset cruise as well and saw several whales breach. So neat to see up close. We also ate fish tacos at Lelani's 3 times - they were so delicious! Ahhh... so nice! We are definitely going to have to do that again in a few years! The kids didnt miss us at all I dont think. Zoe feels like she gained a few lbs from all the treats and chocolate milk she drank. And little Chase decided that he has no more interest in crawling anymore - and the black eye to prove it! He is walking everywhere! Before we left he only wanted things he could throw, eat, or push around. But today he sat on the floor with me for 15 min and put blocks into a sorter. My boy is growing! Thanks to the grandparents for watching our babies!
